County Road Signs
Theft of County Road Signs Is a Dangerous and Costly Problem for all Rutherford County Citizens!
Road signs are imperative to rapid response times for EMS, Law Enforcement and Fire Departments. During an emergency, time between when a call is initiated to the arrival of emergency responders is precious. Missing road signs are a nuisance and a needless expense to taxpayers. Road sign replacement can cost the county anywhere from $20.00 to $48.00. This does not include fuel, vehicle repairs, equipment cost and salaries of part time road maintenance employees. Rutherford County has experienced an increase in stolen road signs for the past three years.
Sign theft now averages around 25 to 30 signs per month.
