Rutherford County Animal Control Facility and Operations
If you are interested in adopting an animal from the Animal Control Facility you will need to come by and select an animal. After choosing the animal, you must fill out the adoption contract stating that you will take the animal to the veterinarian of your choice. The cost of the adoption is $60.00 for all dogs and cats. The cost includes your exam at the veterinarian's office, first rabies vaccine, first parvo/distemper vaccine, and the spay or neuter of the animal.
Hours of Operation for the Animal Control Facility
Monday - Friday: 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. for intake and return to owners
Monday - Friday: 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. for for public adoptions
Saturday: 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Closed on Sundays and on all major holidays.
Monday - Wednesday: 12:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Closed on Thursdays
Fridays: 12:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Saturdays: 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
Animal Control has a rabies clinic at the facility on the first Wednesday of every month in 2015 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. 1 year vaccines will be available for $7.00
