POSITION AVAILABLE-Rutherford County, NC is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Shift Supervisor to perform administrative and supervisory work, supervise ten (10) employees, prepare scheduling of personnel, maintain day-to-day operations, respond to dispatched 911 calls in a QRV, and other duties as assigned.  This position reports to the Assistant Director and work is conducted on a 12 hour shift rotation. POSITION AVAILABLE - Rutherford County has a part time Receptionist position available at the Senior Center.  Position is responsible for welcoming and directing guests, answering, and directing phone calls, scheduling, and confirming appointments. Assists participants with new registration, tours, questions, and check ins.   Position will cross-train in other areas to assist with workflow when staff are out or on vacation. Position reports to the Senior Center Director.  Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, business courses and secretarial or clerical experience including customer service or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be proficient in computer use. POSITION AVAILABLE-Rutherford County is seeking a Property Appraiser Supervisor-An employee in this class oversees the work of Appraisers and technicians that identify land parcels and their value. Work involves training, coordinating, assisting and supervising a staff of field Appraisers involved in the appraisal of land and buildings for assessment purposes, as well as assisting with complex residential real property appraisals.  Work includes supervising and participating in the review and defense of residential property value appeals; ensuring the appropriate and consistent inspection, listing, review and calculations; checking comparisons with like properties for compliance with the Schedule of Value; and assisting in defending the Schedule of Values before the Board of Equalization and Review, the NC Property Tax Commission, and NC in Court of Appeals, as needed. Work requires the ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in ensuring proper application of established policies and procedures to individual appraisal cases, and requires displaying tact, courtesy and firmness with employees and during frequent contact with property owners and the general public. Duties subject the employee to inside and outside environments and hazards associated with site measuring tasks on construction projects. Work is performed under the direction of the Revenue Director and is evaluated through conferences, review of work, records and documents and feedback from citizens.
Desirable Education and Experience Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in real estate, business or a related field, and three years of experience in real property appraisal; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements Certification by the State of North Carolina as a County Real Property Appraiser. NC Driver’s License.

POSITION AVAILABLE - Rutherford County has a part time Heavy Equipment Operator position available. Position reports to the Solid Waste Director.  Work involves a variety of tasks, including loading, packing and covering refuse at the Landfill using heavy equipment such as front loader, dozer, and dump trucks. Main duties will be performed at the Transfer Station and C&D. Position will also be required to bushhog as assigned.  Minimum requirements:  Clean driving record.  Knowledge of equipment safety, driving skills and county geography.  Must have ability to get along with the general public.  Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to weather conditions and is classified as heavy labor.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push 100 lbs. POSITION AVAILABLE –Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department.  Position requires ability to drive a fifteen (15) passenger van.  Must assist elderly and/or passengers with a disability to board and/or leave the vehicle, must be able to load, position, secure, and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicles (This requires ability to pull, push, bend over, stoop and get down on hands and knees). Must be able to operate 2-way radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography.  Reports to the Operations Manager. Position is up to 19 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Willingness to work twelve (12) hour shifts (currently night shift openings) Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Strong visual acuity. Strong hearing and comprehension. Willingness to put forth time, and effort to complete a comprehensive training program for the first six (6) to twelve (12) weeks before becoming a solo Telecommunicator.
