POSITION AVAILABLE: Rutherford County has part time (floater) convenience center position available. Responsible for operation and maintenance of convenience centers. Assists in disposal of residential waste and in collection of recyclables. Keeps convenience center and container roll off areas clean. Helps general public with questions and concerns. Min Requirements: High School Diploma, able to lift 50 lbs, tact and courtesy in dealing with customers. Exposure to outdoors, dust and odors. Wages: $9.78 per hour. POSITION AVAILABLE – Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department. Position requires ability to drive a multi passenger vehicle. Must also assist the elderly and/or adults with a disability to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle. Must be able to operate an open air radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, where courtesy, and tact is a must. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography. Reports to the Operations Manager. Hours are based on need up to 19 hrs./week. Transit operates from approx. 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, wages are $10.35 per hour. Minimum requirements: valid N.C. Rutherford County has a Mechanic Tech Position available. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment. At the Direction of the Garage Supervisor, conducts scheduled preventive maintenance functions, oil changes, diagnoses vehicle malfunctions and mechanical problems, performs engine, exhaust, steering, electrical, air conditioning, and brake repairs. Prepares work reports and inventory control and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Tech 1 Automotive Certification with 3 to 5 years experience in general automotive repair and /or a technical school certificate (ASE) preferred. Candidate must provide appropriate tools for the trade. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license. EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000. Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division. RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks. Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime. All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing. Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS. ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT. All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment. Rutherford County Sheriff's Office:
Rutherford County Sheriff's 911 Communications is seeking a Part Time Call Taker for a 5pm – 11pm (approx.) mini-shift. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. EXPERIENCE is desired but the right candidate will be trained. Position is supervised by the Communications Director. Work involves operating a computerized work station while answering emergency and non-emergency calls. Work requires the ability to multi-task and function in high stress situations while remaining calm, having patience with callers who are under stress, frightened or angry. Position involves Call Taking for Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel and Firefighters. Call-Takers work in a confined area under constant exposure to radio traffic, ringing telephones, and conversations occurring simultaneously. Minimum requirements: must be 18 years of age, High School Diploma, proficient in computer keyboarding, must be able to pass an onsite aptitude test. Those experienced with call handing are strongly encouraged to apply. This is not a dispatch position. Growth opportunities are available.
