Theft of County Road Signs Is a Dangerous and Costly Problem for all Rutherford County Citizens!
Road signs are imperative to rapid response times for EMS, Law Enforcement and Fire Departments. During an emergency, time between when a call is initiated to the arrival of emergency responders is precious. Missing road signs are a nuisance and a needless expense to taxpayers. Road sign replacement can cost the county anywhere from $20.00 to $48.00 per sign. This does not include fuel, vehicle repairs, equipment cost and salaries of part time road maintenance employees. If you have any information about any person(s) responsible for stealing road signs, please contact the Sheriff’s Department at 828-287-6247.
To remain anonymous, call the Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 828-286-8477
